Peace and enrichment

Despite Iran’s insistence that its nuclear program is purely for peaceful pursuits, concerns that Iran may be enriching uranium for military use continue to grow.

This past week, six world powers have called for Iran to resume talks “without preconditions”. Iran, though, says it will allow inspections only after the UN agrees to a wider range of issues.

While all this diplomatic haggling is going on, satellite photos seem to show cover-up activities at a suspected nuclear enrichment plant where inspectors have been denied access.

All this has led Israel to indicate that it may strike at Iran within months if the situation isn’t resolved.

A scary week, indeed. Let’s hope things will work out. Otherwise, the world may very well end this year.
