OH LA LA-
Just before the weekend began, France saw its Standard and Poor’s rating downgraded from AAA to AA+ for the first time since 1975.
Downgrades were also given to 8 other European countries as the economic crisis continues.
French PM François Fillon was quick to say the downgrade was not a reflection of his government’s policies and that people shouldn’t panic.
France isn’t the only top-rated country to get their As kicked. The US lost an A months earlier. And many fear the crisis will get worse before it gets better.
It looks like the whole world will be tightening its belt for the long haul. The best we can do is keep our chins up. And while humanity has been through worse, let’s hope this time we learn the ABCs of living within our means.
