JFK – reel intrigue

A recording of the conversations that took place on Air Force One on the day Kennedy was assassinated was finally released today.

This recording contains 42 minutes missing from the version made public in 1971. New bits include sinister codenames, obscure figures and obscure phone calls. All juicy stuff for conspiracy theorists.

But what we found most powerful is a phone call in which Lyndon B. Johnson was consoling Kennedy’s mother. In her voice, you can hear her strength in the face of tragedy.

The tape was privately held by a military aide. It was acquired by a dealer who is now selling it for US$500,000.

Any conspiracy theorists out there with cash to spare?
