Gates donates. Do you?

Microsoft founder Bill Gates pledged US$750 million today to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, a fund that has recently lost donors due to financial losses allegedly stemming from corruption.

Gates made the announcement at the World Economic Forum in Davos, hoping his credibility will help galvanise support.

An independent firm hired by the Global Fund has released a report that found little evidence to support the allegations.

But to us, the bigger picture isn’t the small part of the pot that may or may not end up in corrupt hands. It’s the bigger part that ends up where it’s supposed to.

And although what we can afford to give may seem like drops in a bucket compared to what Gates has given, if we count all our drops… even if it’s just a few dollars to a small charity… together we can create a sea change.
