A season of sorrow

Extremely cold weather continues to claim lives across Europe, with the death toll now in the hundreds.

Over the past couple of weeks, tens of thousands have been cut off by snow or have lost power. Major transportation hubs have had to shut down or reduce services. And many countries have seen record snowfalls and the lowest temperatures in decades.

The cold snap continues to sweep westward. And sadly, it seems like it will linger on for at least another week.

To our friends across Europe, our thoughts go out to you. May this season of sorrow soon give way to spring.
