A viral video to raise awareness about Ugandan war criminal Joseph Kony has gone viral on the web, viewed by over 60 million viewers in just a few days.

Kony 2012, a half-hour film about Kony’s use of child soldiers, was produced by activist group Invisible Children, Inc. It speaks of the horrific acts of terror committed by Kony over the past 26 years, with particular focus on the kidnapping and coercion of children into military service.

Despite massive support from the public and celebrities, Kony 2012 has been criticised for manipulating facts to get its message across. Critics also question the use of funds by Invisible Children in order to produce this film.

Sure, the critics have their point. But in the end, we think the message couldn’t be any clearer: it’s time to end the use of child soldiers.
