In a recent survey of 24 countries, Australia ranked number one in the world for bullying on social networks like Facebook.

The Ipsos Social Research Institute noted that among all cyber-harassment cases in Australia, 9 out of 10 parents reported that the bullying occurred on these websites.

The research results were released just a week after an Australian schoolgirl took her own life after being tormented by Facebook bullies.

But there’s always hope; long-term studies have shown that when victims told someone about it, often a solution is found to end the behaviour.

So to all you grown ups out there, do take appropriate action if a child reports cyber harassment to you.

And to all you bullies out there, grow up!
